I live in a street that is too narrow for two cars to pass each other. If another car comes from the other direction one car has to stop at the side of the road to let the other one pass. It is customary that when another car lets you pass you raise your hand to the one that let you pass as a way to say thanks to him.
What I noticed is that males almost always do this while females never say thanks when I let them pass.

There is bicycle path crossing in my city that has stop sign. You have to go uphill to get to the road (the road is elevated and it's in a forest. So it's very bad visibility, it is reasonable.
What is surprising is, a lot of drivers will still stop and yield if they see you. When it's you who have a stop rign.
Here it is usually the other way around. Cars mostly ignore cyclists and expect that they move out of their way.
Since I exclusively rode a bike for decades I know that it takes way less effort to just step onto the brake and onto the gas than to accelerate your bike from standstill so I usually give them priority. Cyclists usually don’t expect this and that makes them way more grateful.
