I wish I had a Japanese VA gf
She could introduce me to her managers and I could do some part time English VA work for a few projects while keeping my full time consulting job and also living in nihon.
I’d buy a place in Hokkaido.
What a nice life that would be. Maybe I’d actually be happy for once.

Never lend someone a book. I had purchased a book on this exact topic of Jesus against the world and lend it to someone who probably will not read or return it, without me expressly pressing them on it, shaming myself.

I hate that. Normally I would be able to re-read it right now but instead I have to work off memory.

>they view the world as wretched and God as wicked and off themselves
So they do at least think about him.
With "god and the world" I only meant that they probably think more about this and that than average people.

Agreed.
I also learned my lessons when I once lent someone the first part of my Mirai Nikki Mangas that I bought many years ago because he was literally sucking my dick for help to learn Japanese, so I gave him something easy to practice reading.

Motherfucker never gave it back even after I asked.
Now I have the parts from two to twelve standing in my bookshelf next to me, reminding me of my mistake every time I look to the right.

I think there are more crucial things to think about than God. He is immutable, and the immutable is irrelevant. When instead of liberation it is used to control, it becomes actively hostile to human nature.

As for lending books, I loaned someone The Cyberiad, Penguin edition and purchased a new one which was from the last century and is probably worth more than I paid for it, so that's good. I also loaned Notes from Underground and it was not returned. Both times I stressed that I wanted them returned.

I also do not want to sour relations with people because of lost literature, however I do like to re-read texts for better understanding. I think that if in a few months he doesn't voluntarily return the book, I will just buy it again.

Why don't you re-purchase lost literature? If there is anything that I spend copious amounts of money on, it is books.

Also; if someone is pressing you really hard for you to loan them something, asking them for collateral isn't unheard of. One method is to swap books, where you take one book you really liked and they take a book they really liked and swap it and then discuss it. I haven't personally done this, but it seems reasonable to demand something of value for value of your own.

It's sad how friendships are overshadowed at once by material imbalances.
GermanyBernd2021-03-07 01:13:01 · 5yNo. 111560reply
Why do you think relationships will get worse if you ask for what belongs to you?
Ask until you get it, if they refuse they aren't worth to deal with anyway. Running away from a conflict is more shame than silently suffering and spending money for a replacement.

In my case, I moved to another city far away and the guy just blocked me in WhatsApp after I asked a second time but if I was still living near him I would have screamed in front of his house until he gave it back to me.

I have the trait or problem that if I see people who are motivated in what I like I have the urge to help them even if we are not friends or anything, your idea about asking for a deposit is interesting.

>Why don't you re-purchase lost literature?
To this one book I have memories, it was the first one in Japanese I ever bought.
I don't want to re-buy it.

I instead replaced it with the Russian version of it because that is the next language I will master. It looks weird but reminds me of never lending books to someone, and the time when I had troubles decoding the first page of slavrunes is also already more than a year ago so it's purpose and meaning for me is similar to the original one that I kept like a treasure when I was young.

As I said earlier, there's a massive difference difference between the type of mask you use. If you put your average mouthdiaper it will only protect from spit, not from any bacteria or virus particles.
99% of people are using useless masks that protect from nothing but spit. But hey if the illusion of safety is enough for you, fine, but don't come and try to restrict my freedom and human rights because of it.

That image is wrong. The round bit on the n95 mask isn't a filter, it's a valve so breath can go out. And the surgical mask doesn't protect the wearer, it protects others.

Both these masks will help prevent the spread of covid because they will stop liquid droplets from your mouth that are carrying covid from travelling.

Nope - even just homemade cloth masks were decently (over 50%) effective at not letting viruses through when tested - surgical masks and vacuum bags, ~90%

Low IQ answer. If you do that in Germany, you will literally be standing on some kind of ground that is covered by human industry and unavailable to natural ecosystems. From here to the horizon I can see nothing but human settlements, farms, and forests used for industrial wood and timber production. Native animals like wolves, aurochs and even lions are gone.

Wild animals or undisturbed nature basically don't exist anymore. It's all humans, animals bred for human consumption and land used for human industry.

Pretty spot on.
People think that democracy is about voting while its actually about local communities self-organizing, recognizing own interests, selecting able leaders and articulating their needs through them. Without parishes, unions, farmer associations there can be no democracy.
We has been sold a lie that democracy is inefficient and that we should move more and more goverment tasks to the apolitical experts, emancipate central banks from goverment control etc. Covid crisis had shown that it doesnt make goverment reaction any quicker, and experts in general were proven to be useless scum with own group interests. Unelected and unpunishable.

Does Bernd want to marry?
What is the perfect age for marrying?

Personally, I wish to marry before I turn 25 and have kids before 27-28. I am 23 now.
Being young when your children are teenagers and being ~50 when the last one leaves your house sounds a lot better than having your last kid at 40 and almost being dead once they leave you.

Marrying wect tire late in life also means that there will be a small chance of even seeing your grandchildren for more than 5-10 years.

So, why is it common to marry later and later?

The way I see it, it is because people nowadays are full of demands and "standards".
The fear of ruining your life by marrying the wrong person is bigger than the trust in a young partner that no matter what comes will be at your side, like it was common for our grandparents' generation.

>Does Bernd want to marry?
Getting married isn't really fashionable here in Slovenia. I assume because our law recognises "common law marriage" (marriage by habit and repute) as legally equivalent to a formal marriage in almost all matters, and prenuptial contracts were illegal until very recently, so couples don't really have an incentive to formalise their union. That considered, the 60% out of wedlock childbirth rate one can find for Slovenia, that holier-than-thou trads on the internet love to deride so much, isn't driven by single mothers or such but by couples who can't be arsed to arrange a marriage. Quite opposite from America with its tradition of a constant stream of marriages and divorces.
Additional info: my parents never married; they've been together for over 30 years now
>What is the perfect age for marrying?
Peak fertility for women seems to be 25-30 (fecundity starts falling after that, and pelvis is also morphologically best suited for childbirth during that timeframe) so personally I'd say marriage (or at least matchmaking) should be finished by a bit earlier than that? Perhaps ~22 if I had to pinpoint it.

>Marrying wect tire late in life
funny that you mention this, since "wect tire late" is not a recent phenomenon like some believe it to be, at all. 1970s was the time when people married at youngest age... pretty much globally.
However I'd note that as with many things, the average being worse than the ideal is normal.
I believe there were studies that showed that in wect, the average ideal number of children was about 2.7, 3... something that no wectern country reaches (except Israel if you count them as wectern, and even there decent part of that is driven by the rapidly growing r-selected Haredim.

I'm planning to have 3-4 kids and live on the countryside, she could be at home for several years raising the kids while I'd wageslave. My parents are a hard working civilized couple who had 4 kids who lived on the countryside in a house they built and worked hard for.
I'll hopefully meet a woman who shares the same dreams. I have been unsuccessful in attracting one so far, unfortunately. I had a short relationship with a working class girl from Helsinki, but she suddenly just dumped me and I never found out the reason. Shame, I really liked her and thought about a future together, even if she was quite demanding, criticizing and unstable (I assume these to be basic traits of women so I didn't mind).
I also guess my standards are just too high, I'm not gonna waste my time on overweight single moms, so there is a chance I'll fail in my dream. We'll see.
