Nah, I though you were talking about real feeling of opportunity by real people living there at the time, but you're talking about something unreal and only possible in someone's mind, 'cause actual real life went in other direction.
Anyway, I was living at those days and all I remember about these obligations was that people were disappointed and didn't really want them. Can't recall anybody who felt opportunity at least before '95-97.

It was amazing. The fist time I got actual nightmares because of a movie/game.
The fucking headcrabs jumping at me make me panic like nothing else. They are so big!
But I exclusively use the teleport movement and walk around with my real body as much as possible.
People that use smooth locomotion are less immersed because it feels more like a game.
Any Bernds on here do arts or crafts? Lately I’ve been trying to get better at drawing and I’ve also picked up linocut printmaking. The latter was mainly because I like Dürer’s woodcuts and engravings (and Rembrandt’s etchings/drypoints). There are many problems with my draftsmanship and anatomy but I’m trying to improve. Soon I will order some figure drawing books.

Thank you Bernd, I’m glad you liked the drawing. In the future I think I will do more studies of engravings (rather than studies from life or photos) in order to improve my hatching skills specifically.

Most likely all my schools mates are upper low class people, who achieved nothing special in life, haven't become a charming person or at least gained some other kind of ordinary success. I guess I would have pretended that I'm on the same wave with them if I had met anyone. Would not call them out first if we met in one room tho.

In different situations. Sometimes when I was alone, for example, one woman asked if she can follow me on our way home after working day. Those from the teenage years were in common company, when I was in uni a girl just came with me to my house, I promised her I will help her studying, didn't know things will turn out the peculiar way. Once a girl told me she loves me on internet forum, she haven't seen me even once, then we had had some ldr, but we met each other several times.
I fell asleep during a webcam lecture.
Thank god the camera was not on. I used to nod off in actual lecture halls in my first year and got a reputation as an oddball for it.

I was confused and embarrassed after waking up in a almost empty lecture hall, people were snickering while walking past me. Grateful the lecturers felt pity and left me in peace.
