Not really. I've just started going to the gym again about a month ago. We were roughly the same size overall, but his forearms looked much more muscular. He was way older than me, though. Already had grey hairs.

That picture triggers me. People that don't do any physical activity will get health issues in their late 30's. And those will get worse and worse. Those are the people that can't get anywhere without their car and can barely walk on their own when they get old.
 
Muscles protect your joints. You won't get slipped disks when you have strong back muscles that protect your spine. Humans were born for physical activity and you can't live a healthy life if you don't do any kind of sports.

It triggers me more than it should too, after all it's some superlazy guys coping and inferiority complex. Working out does not stop you from reading books, drawing comics etc. And the guy who works out will also eat healthy, so no saggy body for him.
A huge problem is that people are unable to see inside of them, the healthy guy will look beautiful inside while the comic drawer and other unhealthy people will have a terrible body both inside and out

I'm currently learning one arm pullups, using a towel.
It's amazing how it works the upperback. At first I thought it would only make my lats stronger, but no, the case is that it depends a lot on your upper back, so it's freaking amazing.
 
My back it's the part of my body that I'm the proudest of, so the thing will be like
Towel one-arm oriented pull ups
Bent over rows to my chest
One arm dumbell rows
Shrugs

I believe a lot of people are missing essential back muscles.
 
Performing the various break dance exercises from 41:30 - 56:01 will highlight various back problems that you may have.
 
Then the fix for these various problems is exercises in this video which establishes some of the essential muscles that a lot of people are missing.
 
Another exercise that is highly effective at fixing common problems is done by holding dumbbells of increasing weights, and bending forward, then bending back. I could not find a video of the exercise, so I made a small picture instruction set demonstrating how the exercise is performed. This exercise can very quickly build up some of the essential back muscles that a lot of people are missing today.

Yes. I do like to read and I want to paint warhammer minis again. But I have gotten the habit of just hanging in front of the computer. I'm trying to stop doing that.
I'm also very lonely, so I need/want/should do something to get more social interactions.

Do you take any supplements?
 
I usually get some multivitamin as pills or fizzy tablets. I make sure they contain selenium and zinc because a doctor once told me it might not be a bad idea to supplement them.
 
There is some debate whether vitamin supplementation is a good idea or not, but I'd rather be safe than sorry. It seems to me that some journalists jump to every little shred of evidence that it might not be good and blow it way out of proportion. A very small dose of vitamin c didn't help elderly people recover faster from the flu? Quick! Write an article about how all vitamins are pointless. Overdosing some vitamin with 100 times the recommended dose over long periods of time leads to kidney stones? Write an article about how vitamins are dangerous! To my understanding, most supplements can't really lead to an overdose if you take the recommended dose and the expensive piss argument is also not really a bother to me since a month's worth of fizzy tablets is like 1€ and I get tasty drinks out of it, too.
 
I also have some troubles with my knee, so I'm interested in trying stuff for that, too. A doctor said I could try glucosamide or something like that, but studies didn't show any effectiveness and I don't think it contributed much to my recovery, either.
 
I just got a pack of fish oil tablets, I heard a lot of good stuff about them, also in relation to knees, so I'll give it a try. Icelanders also swear on eating fish oil in the winter...
