There's a kind of consistency to it and it feels more alive than a lot of dead chans.
FinlandBernd2020-11-24 05:09:04 · 6yNo. 104680reply
perhaps the best thing vs other chans is that you can view all of the boards at once on a shared front page, making the site appear more active vs posting activity being scattered accross different boards

altough this chan still hardly any activity as things stand

Honestly I feel like it's just because of the shitty posters on here. Less shitty than on other imageboards but still shitty.

I'd just like to interject for a moment. What you're referring to as Linux,
is in fact, GNU/Linux, or as I've recently taken to calling it, GNU plus Linux.
Linux is not an operating system unto itself, but rather another free component
of a fully functioning GNU system made useful by the GNU corelibs, shell
utilities and vital system components comprising a full OS as defined by POSIX.

Many computer users run a modified version of the GNU system every day,
without realizing it. Through a peculiar turn of events, the version of GNU
which is widely used today is often called "Linux", and many of its users are
not aware that it is basically the GNU system, developed by the GNU Project.

There really is a Linux, and these people are using it, but it is just a
part of the system they use. Linux is the kernel: the program in the system
that allocates the machine's resources to the other programs that you run.
The kernel is an essential part of an operating system, but useless by itself;
it can only function in the context of a complete operating system. Linux is
normally used in combination with the GNU operating system: the whole system
is basically GNU with Linux added, or GNU/Linux. All the so-called "Linux"
distributions are really distributions of GNU/Linux.

Anyone here drink whiskey? I want to buy a bottle but also not spend 50€ on something I don't know if I like. Pic rel is the cheapest at my supermarket and I vaguely remember liking it ten years ago. Should I buy?
AustraliaBernd2020-11-10 06:57:04 · 6yNo. 104310reply
I can't speak to this specific one. Are there any small taster bottles you can buy?
Also, are there any specialist alcohol stores near you? The ones near me always have a little whiskey tasting table setup.
AustraliaBernd2020-11-10 06:59:39 · 6yNo. 104311reply
Also, most blends should be absolutely fine to drink. Whiskey is a journey. Even if you don't like something, it is a learning experience and helps to refine the palate and offers more comparisons when you drink other whiskeys in the future.

I'm planning to play Oblivion against.
Any tips for getting the most fun out of the game? I'll be reading up on efficient leveling and stuff, because I remember getting fights at higher levels getting tedious and I want to defeat my enemies quickly. I also want to do more magic, as I've never really explored that aspect of the game. But playing a pure mage seems annoying, too.
Any advice?

maybe it will be fun to play a dialog oriented build.

I don't think Oblivion has enough dialog options to make that fun, tbh. Although I've always thought it might be interesting to roleplay as a rich aristocrat in the Imperial city.

I'm determined to become a Keinbernd, i. e. fixing my problems and improving myself, not necessarily becoming a normie, but being the best version of myself and living a life that is more enjoyable than it has been so far.

Things I've been doing:
- Improving my diet and watching my weight and bodyfat percentage.
- Regular exercise.
- Trying to be responsible and get stuff done without procrastinating.
- Started meditating.
- Making an effort to have a social life despite being isolated at home and having little friends and family to begin with. Regular calls with existing social contacts.
- Tinder. I already went on a bunch of dates, but they haven't lead to anything yet. I still feel it is probably good to expose myself to new social situations.
- Trying to fix my sleep schedule.
- Installing time tracking and blocking addons on firefox, so I can keep myself from consooming websites that rot my brain. (For example the other KC.)

Please point out stuff I might have forgotten about, offer insight into a particular topic or just AMA.

Tinder is a horrible way of getting to know people, but I met an amazing fwb there two years ago, which tells me it’s not pointless and frankly there are no other options for me right now.

Thanks. I’m not worried about being 35 or 45 though. As long as health and life circumstances are good, age isn’t an issue until quite late in life.

Honestly it hasn't been that bad. Gives me time to kinda focus on the simple pleasures. Just going for a walk outside is nice enough when I don't need to worry about having anywhere to be, because until a couple days ago legally I didn't have anywhere I could be.
What hasn't been so good for my coping is the fact that I can't procrastinate my studies. Instead I'm forced to contend with the fact that studying gives me stress and anxiety. Spending 8 hours a day not being as productive as I would like. That's what I don't like. I guess seeing friends and family would be good at some point too though.
CaliforniaBernd2020-10-19 22:00:10 · 6yNo. 103653reply
It's definitely a bit rough to deal with. I've found that I feel much better when I "schedule" which days I will work on for a given subject, and give myself enough time so that I have enough time to fuck off. Some days I do procrastinate, and when that happens, I usually wake up extra early in the morning to complete work from the previous night.

it's definitely tough to hold yourself accountable, but if you try to trick your mind into thinking that there is an immediate reward to your tough work, it becomes a bit easier.
New ZealandBernd2020-10-19 22:54:50 · 6yNo. 103655reply
After two months of no work visa, my mind is starting to grow dull and sullen without adequate socialization or working.
Problems were. Fucking nz government is taking their sweet time to issue me my visa and my seasonal work is a few weeks away. I'd rather be deported at this point than spend another day trying to fill my day with novelties and ignoring my newly refound weed habit.
Man needs a schedule. Even the most mundane one so that it can justify antagonism and give a minor sense of accomplishment compared to his peers.
AustraliaBernd2020-10-19 23:01:53 · 6yNo. 103656reply
Thanks for your reply.
I do find it hard to reward myself. Maybe I need to set different expectations for myself. But I do think you are right about a schedule.
