Whenever you say something used to be better people will almost always say "oh everyone has always said that". You can find Romans and Greeks talking about how things are much worse than they used to be, like it proves that everything is the same.
But I think it's true. It's like the internet, the internet used to be much smart, funnier, and more creative before it got to the masses , adapted for phones, and monetized. Undeniably it's worse. I think the Romans were right about civilization being in decline also. It's just that something new is made, like a civilization and then it gets bigger and worse and worse and degrades. Then someone creates something new and it happens all over again.
