>all out war
I don't see how you came to this conclusion.
It was a large volume rocket strike, then raids on foot (on gliders, via tunnels, boats, bikes...), with the intent of kidnap some people, and murder some more. They probably had target lists of key people in the neighbouring areas, and hit them.
WillyOAM has a video about an attack on a town, where the Hamas entered houses to kidnap and/or murder people, this particular story is about a police officer who does not strike me as a traffic cop type. It might not be a coincidence one of the families targeted was his:

Besides these minor targets (among them military ones) and some killings that seem random, the whole thing looks more like a provocation. How Alex of Historylegends put it: it's like on a football game when the player behind you continuously pushing you, nudging, poking, provoking you to make you feel "enough" and strike back committing a foul.
This is not a war, wasn't a war behalf of the Hamas. I can't even imagine what do you expect. Building fortifications in the areas they raided into and hold the line? Occupying territories, annexing half of Israel or what?
>Iran is way worse
Iran has way worse press in the West than Israel.
What I wrote about hampering the normalization, this could cover Iran's goal however.
>they are like a Wagner pmc for Russia or a Blackwater
Somewhat but not really. Hamas and Hezbollah are ethnically and religiously motivated movements and parties, committed to armed fighting. They accept training, equipment and money basically form anyone who is willing to support them. Iran is such ofc. They also gain experience in participating in conflicts elsewhere, like Syria. Without fighting you won't know how to fight.
Wagner and Blackwater also has quite the differences, but that's another topic
>Did you know they bombed an embassy in my country in the 90's?
What I heard that Hezbollah bombed a synagogue and Iran was blamed, but apparently Iran had no reason.
Iran will be blamed for everything, and not without a good reason. But in the Middle East you'll never know who finances who, who hires who really. Too much meddling. I read a bit about Turkey's political life and I found it is riddled with paranoia and conspiracies and theories about conspiracies. There's a reason for that. Small guys will always be tools of the bigger ones.
Also I'm sure Argentina above of taking armed action against another country...
