But those are only a couple of eccentric people and not representative of all Helsinkians, right?
I find Finland very interesting and would like to visit. Helsinki seems like a cool place to me, but I don't know much about it tbh.
I am also of the opinion that we should ban Bogdan.

Based if you are well-off hipster minded metropolitan. Helsinki(at least the central region) is best described as the hipster capital of the world. It's kinda like Berlin, but more obscure, smaller and less known, thus cooler for hipsters.
But if you go too far into the eastern parts of the city, you'll start to see a lot more savannah people, junkies, 50 year old drunks passed out in the bushes etc mixed with some normal but stubborn elderly ladies who bought their apartment there back in the 70s when that area was actually respectable family housing area and now they refuse to leave.
If you want to live in Finland, then Helsinki is only worth it, if you are rich. But at that point you are rich enough to go actually live anywhere on the planet anyway. So no, it's not worth it, unless you are the type of hipster who loves Berlin, but thinks it's too mainstream.

>Everything wrong
So eastern Helsinki is not full of people of the south, junkies, drunkards mixed in with occasional widowed elderly ladies?
That thing alone should be an undisputed fact, that i have the hardest time believing anyone would disagree with.

Helsinki is expensive and shit. I have never understood why people want to move there when life is OK here in the "countryside cities" too.

Helsinki is nice for a young student who just wants to have fun and go restaurants and pubs with friends. Hipsters can rejoice here. When you grow older it becomes shitty if you are still forced to live in a concrete box and can't afford a nice house.
Areas vary a lot, avoid the ones with more foreigners (greener areas on picture) and junkies, and you're fine.
I moved here during corona, it is quite cozy but at the same time I haven't yet seen its potential when everything has been locked down and nobody goes anywhere.
It's also a very small city, so not too crowded at all.

cringe indeed
