Bernd, isn't it strange how industrialism I and II were upheavals in society, changing the way people work, love, travel, dress, eat and live, meanwhile since the 60s we had also incredible technological changes, such as microcomputers and internet, yet our work productivity is pretty much unchanged, our quality of life seems to be getting worse and society has only some small variations?
Did humanity hit a cap? Did the aliens who were secretly guiding us behind the scenes decided to abandon the project?
I think the western civilization has had its peak during the 80s extending to the early 2000s.
Our wealth and success has grown to our head, lead to arrogance, and we started to think we can convert the whole world to be like us. Little did we know that our wealth was based on exploiting others, that not everyone is equal, and nothing in life will ever fully be fair and equal.
But we we were too entitled to see these truths, we could afford to look away.
Recently, I decided to sit down and play victoria 3.
Some of PDS decision regarding it are so baffling to me:
You don't have army battles anymore, you don't declare war, you just assign your armies to fronts and then raise tensions with diplomatic plays. This means you don't directly control the armies, they battle automatically and over time.
In Vic 2, laissez-faire economic policy was very serious, you privatised your whole economy and lost any direct control over it. In Vic 3 this just means that companies can buy your buildings, you can still build, subsidize and intervene on companies at will, with barely any disadvantages.
Also your companies make the most stupid investment possible, the company is a steel mill cooperative, and they will be building a tea plantation in Congo that has no connection to your market.
If you are playing a country like Belgium or France, and you have 70% literacy, you will notice that some shit hole in middle of nowhere like the Baltic states have 90% literacy. This is because your country both attract uneducated immigrants and have good healthcare to prevent your uneducated elderly pops to die. The game also doesn't show you literacy rate growth, you have to guess it yourself.
The game also follows EU4 trade routes. If you are not trading with a country through land, that means you can only export down wards, thus if you are france for example, you can't export to Sweden or Russia, just import.
What is Bernd opinion of this?
Let's invent a syncretic religion. We'll take circumcision and God from Judaism (which Islam and Christianity already did), 10 commandments from Old Testament, kultur of love and forgive from New Testament, use incoherent phrasing about Jesus so that it's not very clear whether he's considered a son of God or just a prophet so we can cater to Muslims.

People will always believe in something and it is clear to see that in godless societies money and beauty are filling the void of things to believe in.
I argue that the old image of god is dated and does not fit our times anymore, so our new religion has to deliver something better.

Having to use Ai image generation for my jerb, and OpenAI's dall-e 3 is a little bit too woke for my taste. All I prompted for is to generate an image to eplain the word 'surname' without using text.

Day 3 of being sober.
Went to sleep right after lecture to escape from reality. It feels like being thrown into a pool filled with cold water.
It feels like being an empty shell that does not want anything. My ADHD is out of controll too but I am not gping back just yet. I lost my sober self and it is time to get it back.
