Regression of muscle osmolality on depth of teleosts. No accepted reports of teleost fishes exist below about 8,000 meters. Yancey et al. 2014 theorize this is because the osmolyte trimethylamine oxide, which protects enzyme kinetics and structure from hydrostatic pressure, is predicted to reach a concentration beyond 8,200 meters which would make the fish hypertonic, presumably killing it (most marine fishes have inactive glomeruli or lack them entirely).

Do humans even know enough to gage how severe their loss would be?
I suspect a lot of scavengers would dissipate and cause a chain reaction die to this.

Cool webm

The deep ocean is connected to global geochemical cycles. For instance subseafloor sediments are the largest near-surface carbon reservoir on earth. Also, bacteria that respire by reducing sulfate comprise a majority of the microbial community in anoxic seafloor sediments, and the precipitation of this reduced sulfate affects ocean alkalinity, as well as the partial pressure of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere.

generally speaking, if literally anything goes extinct, it can and WILL ripple out in some fashion or other.
humans being omnivores means that were probably better suited than most to deal with such things
but its more about how it would effect the rest of the foodchain, which could be very drastic
less biodiversity is pretty much universally a very bad thing.
and the further down the foodchain such extinctions happen, the greater potential they have to be absolutely catastrophic

idk enough about sealife to really comment too much more and frankly neither does anyone else due to how hard it is to explore the deeper parts of the ocean but i reckon it would cause serious problems for us down the line

im always miffed about how much attention goes into things, like global warming which thanks to volcanoes, solar flares, and other naturally occurring phenomena (not to mention third world industrialization, which absolutely WILL NOT STOP, as first world corporations depends on their cheap bullshit and psuedo-slave labor), would be very difficult for us to really control too terribly much, meanwhile were still absolutely loading the ocean with shitty plastic bags and trash, which have absolutely devastated the oceans gyres.
imo thats much more of an addressable issue, and likely has much more of an impact on the actual health of the global ecosystem.
life on earth has shown to be quite capable at adapting to changes in temperature over its history. but loading the main breeding grounds for nearly all ocean life with shitty non-biodegradable plastic and other industrial pollution? well, we really have no data points to reference what will happen in that instance.
bet its no good tho
but alas, lobbying against the petroleum industry in such a fashion is pretty much out of the question

The PETM was pretty bad and this is even potentially worse.

I just realized that it was 9/11 a few hours ago.
I think the shock of 2001 is wearing off now and from the 2020 point of view I don't really understand how this was SUCH a big deal back then.
Not to disrespect the ones killed by cia niggers but compared to 2012-2020 tier event it's peanuts.

We got over 10 translations and peopel still argue which one is the best, it's a proper holy war material.
Yet they all fail at some aspects: one has great dialogue but retarded "translated" names you can't take seriously, another will have dumb dialogue but with transliterated names at least.

I hate ever having to conaider making friends. Men grow too envious over petty issues instead of overcoming their insecurities by cooperating. I hate having to bend my back at times to avoid the jealousy lurking beneath the skin of certain men and after a while its too much of a toilsome effort to with hold my true high energy self.
Maybe i should just strive to make enemies instead of dealing with the ingratitude of others.

I made some bums butthurt when I was passing through Wellington and avoided sharing them my harmonica. It's such a toil having to explain to certain people when I'm only playing for the joy of music itself, that I will not share my germs with others. And I believe my paranoia is justified despite the inclination towards filth, to avoid the possibility of catches herpes or covid.

SwedenWoman arrested after riots in MalmöBernd2020-09-08 08:20:10 · 6yNo. 101593reply
The riots at Rosengård on 28 August started after a number of people held an unlicensed demonstration in Malmö where, among other things, a Koran was burned.

Later in the evening, unrest broke out in the Rosengård district.

About 15 people, both women and men, are suspected of crimes in connection with the riot when tires and debris were burned, bus shelters were smashed and blue light personnel were exposed to threats and violence.

Evidence can be found on video

Video footage seems to show that a woman played a prominent role during the riots. The woman is said to have been seen holding a torch in her hand and inciting the crowd. A video shows her screaming:

"They started a war when they were playing with the Koran. The pigs. They are dogs, they are in collusion with them. If you do not want Islam, why did you bring us here? ”

In connection with the riots during the evening and night, objects were burned and stones were thrown at the police and rescue services.

On one occasion, when the rescue service was alerted to a fire at a garage on Hårds väg, a crowd of about 50 people rushed towards the staff. In a report to the Swedish Work Environment Authority, a rescue chief describes how the crowd threw stones and other objects at the rescue service's personnel and cars.

An officer was forced to throw himself into a police car to seek protection and in a report to the Swedish Work Environment Authority, the rescue chief writes that the personnel on site experienced "great concern for their own safety and life".
