Have you been watering the garden of your mind?
I finished this last night. What a travesty to the series. It's tiresome to trudge through some chapters. Most of the story feels forthcoming of a great idea about the woes being an all knowing polymath through paradoxes that manage to fall flat and eventually lead around in another chapter repeating the same tiresome phlegm present in the previous book(s). Overall it just felt like it missed the mark of where the first Dune created the landscape this one invariably reversed and tried to expand by letting the political paradoxes and word play run endlessly amok. 6/10 - would rather smash my toes than reread the sterile poorly done discussions.

The previous book I read was It's Me Eddie, by Eddie Limonov. Quite a vulgar book showing what a trained literary glob could do without the alcohol that had sunk Bukowski. It was a breathe of fresh air to my stagnant brain at the time. Certain repetitive events near the end would have worked better had they been condensed further towards the middle of the story rather than adding to the mounting display of neurosis I believe the character was sufficiently displaying. 8/10 - would definitely reread this charming book.

Ok I know newspapers pick half their names from a list, like "Daily", "Watcher", "Times", "Journal", "Chronicle", "Post", etc. But I got the impression that Korea and Japan times has something to do with each other. Maybe they are in the same conglomerate or something.

Aren't you scared of starving or being murdered? How does your life work anyway you seem to switch jobs and locations like others change their underwear, is that normal in NZ?
New ZealandBernd2021-10-05 00:30:54 · 5yNo. 124000reply
>starving
No. I have savings and would be more concerned if I was robbed of the money I intend on taking overseas.
Nobody has suspected me of having $2400 cad and $800 usd in the fanny pack I walk around with hauehauhurahua.
Being murdered would be a blessing to relieve my weary soul from this finicky shell.
I assume my life was a fairly normal occurrence previous generations have followed before travel became an overly inundated excursion through bureaucratic filings and security laws. Go travel, work, travel, work some more, get bored and settle down somewhere.
If its normal in NZ, that I can't positively interpret regarding the endemic population. Most of the seasonal jobs were fulfilled by locals, backpackers or seasonal workers coming from vanuatu, solomon islands, fiji, etc. There's bound to be a few kiwis who genuinely follow the seasons, though, I would deem it foolish if Australia has an endless picking rotation, higher wages and better overall availability of work. I am sure that in Aussie there are professional groups who go around doing seasons of various crops, earning more than I've made in one year over a span of a few months.
I haven't owned underwear since 2019,

And with that thunderous sound of lust you'd announce your desires to the whole premises. A high-test move, and as all high-test moves, rather risky. I'd rather give her bottom area a heartfelt caress of a caring lover. Than, when she would turn around and look at me, I'd give her a wink.

Thanks.
It wasn't a pleasure trip, so I just needed to get home from an extended stay for work. That being said, it was alright.

+ I could go from door to door with public transport, only had to walk like 400m
+ Trains were on time. Only about 5 minutes delay.
- Somewhat expensive (80€)
- One train was full, not very comfortable in 2nd class.
- No working internet connection on trains, had to use up most of my 1GB monthly allowance of mobile internet.

3/5 will travel like this again.
GermanyBernd2021-10-02 11:53:53 · 5yNo. 123803reply
How often you changed the train?
GermanyBernd2021-10-02 12:06:15 · 5yNo. 123804reply
- bus to train station
- train to changeover station
- train to target city
- tram to home

So just 1 changeover in the Deutsche Bahn network.

I always try to make as few changeovers as possible, because they are the main source of problems. When going north-south, it is always best to get the train from Switzerland to Hamburg or Kiel via Frankfurt. It is the most popular route in Germany and thus well maintained and fast.
