Here, depending where you get a job as a sysadmin, they expect you to be a general technician who does all kinds of electricity related work, from running the computer part through setting up projectors for presentations to change lightbulbs and fixing the coffee machine.
But yeah, if in specifically IT I do heard in general form around the world that they seek devops instead, and devving is becoming normal sysadmin work... Tho in a way it is, let's say if you run a linux server you should be able to develop your own tools to take care of stuff, at minimum with writing bash scripts and automating stuff with it.
