I'm not arguing that you should have to design notebooks in a visually distinct way from macbooks. It is a simple design and appropriate for that type of device.
But Huawei chose to make a similar product, present it in a very similar way in advertising (look at the wallpapers) and gave it a cartoonishly similar name that makes little sense on its own. Meanwhile competitors have names like XPS, Surface Pro, Thinkpad or things like that and use colors and designs in advertising that doesn't look like a knockoff of Apple's advertising. But no, they chose "Matebook".
