It's surprising how well timed Kubrick managed to film the sets in Ireland of all places. It's arguably one of his better films in his book of works.

Feels bad that we never had the chance to get close because as a kid she'd never listen to me and always think the she knows my problems better than me which got me in big ass trouble and I kinda closed my heart.

My mum was overprotective and coddled me, which stinted some skills I could have learned earlier to better integrate into the working class background nobody in either side of my family has managed to escape from. I'm grateful to have the opportunities I've had thus far and at least the chance to develop some skills, albeit a bit slower than some.

I found it to be a boring film overall but the duel at the end was intense as fug and many scenes were definitely cool

As far as I understand, a sigma male is an asshole extraordinaire, so I don't see how being a proper family man should be considered a sigma male move. If anything, the eponymous protagonist of the movie is a sigma male, as well as his older gambling companion.
