I need to follow up on the comic that refurbished a lot of the pre-production artwork.
He did have a vision, and I think his choice in bands was better than the score that appeared in the newest Dune. Props to the composer who made a good bagpipe score when the house Atreides was descending their space carrier.
Can it be done in today's world? Whoever owns the rights to Dune (dog forbid it's Frank Herbert or a corporation), would likely avoid risking a large budget on an animated series when there's already a good amount of theatrical media covering the series, resulting in a cheap production. Netflix does seem to have done some good work lately with some projects, but I wouldn't entrust them seeing as they're needling propaganda into their work, just as this recent movie didn't take into account how monolithic the Fremen genetic line should have been after being secluded from the empire for thousands of years.
