All in all, how eggspensive is it to make a batch of 10 prints with your settings?

I love your work, based art pole. Be sure to let us know if you have an instagram or something like that. If I had money I would commission you to make something for my apartment or buy one of your prints :3

It's hard to say per print since actual production is cheap and 1l of ink lasts for thousands of printenings but you need "infrastructure" so initial cost :

CORE:

-screens 10-30$ each, depends on size, best are the aluminium ones since they are sturdy and light.
-light sensitive emulsion for the screen developement - 10-15$
-aluminium gutters to apply the emulsion on the screen - 5$
-emulsion remover (to clean screens) - a couple of bucks for water soluble powder that lasts for ages

PRINTING:

-Inks, (vary depending on color) 1l of ink is 8-25$
-metal hinges (to attach screen to a table) - around 10-15$
-squeegee (to press the ink through the screen) - vary depending on size 2-11$
-brown scotch to protecte the edges of the screen

Additional:
-karcher (u can use ones on gas stations tho),
-ACID REMOVER -> after each print some residue of the ink rests on the screen, so you need to open up the net with this acid from time to time and clean it with water under pressure, otherwise the net eyes will be clogged. 10$

Emulsion is already on the screen so i attach the stencil films and cover them with glass so they are flat on the net.
Then move them outside and wait 6-7min (my estimation based on earlier developements in this time of year under similar weather)

I think the english term for Kärcher is pressure washer. In Germany we just call them Kärcher, too.
PolandBernd2021-09-17 13:36:17 · 5yNo. 122836reply
Most europeans call it simply karcher afaik.

How do you come up with your designs?
SloveniaBernd2021-09-17 15:34:52 · 5yNo. 122842reply
my dad has a Lavor one but it even looks like a Kärcher, same colours

Its usually when i see a piece and want to make something similar in mood, for example here i was inspired by Roerich, wanted to makes some high constrast, 2-color dark temple.

Not too expensive. Pretty good. Thank for quality reply.

>Roerich
I simply can't get over how his surname is literally Rurik.
Explanation: Рюрикъ is transcription of Norse Hrǿríkʀ which is a common Germanic name Hrōþirīks, which is Roderick in English, Rodrigo in Spanish, and Roderich in German (but Roerich when reintroduced from Norse which lost the -þ- while German hardened it)
RussiaBernd2021-09-17 19:37:42 · 5yNo. 122864reply
But it is Ре́рих, not Рюрикъ?
PolandBernd2021-09-17 19:41:04 · 5yNo. 122865reply
Fuggen screws that were attaching the hinges to the table loosened so todays tests were kinda a failure, out of the 6 prints only one was well aligned (probably by accident xD).

Need to push the blue more into violet direction (red is more orange than on photo irl)

Yes but the other way around (Рюрик(ъ) is Rurik)
