anyone ever used one of these for emulation? looking to build a semi-portable emulation station that i can take with me on the road.
how accurate are they? is latency and/or slowdown a huge issue? id be outputting to a CRT most of the time.
im only really looking to emulate up to about the 16bit era, maybe some arcade games too if it can handle it.
cant imagine that i would need a very expensive one but there sure are a lot of options. makes my head swim just trying to remember which is which.
also, id like to at least be able to play 2 player, and if possible up to 4 player games.
it looks like all the newer ones the "4" models have 4 USB slots, but are a bit more expensive.
but i was wondering if there was any way to cheese this, perhaps with some sort of "USB multitap" or whatever youd call it?
and if anyone has ever built one, how hard is it to deal with all those really small wires/chips on the PCB in terms of soldering? im ""okay"" at soldering and have done it a lot with like guitars and stuff like that, but tbh im kinda intimidated to try something as small as those raspberry kits that come totally un-assembled. my hands arent that steady
picrel is the one im eyeing up rn
you think this would be adequate?
