I don't think the animation is particularly good tbh

 

Yeah it's very good, though not quite as magical as the 90s version. There are many reasons for this, better character art in the 90s version being one of them.

I've watched original episode 1 and new episode 1.

At least space battles despite being CGI are better in new one.

But I'm not sure which version I should stick to.

I guess I try both for more episodes.

Die Neue These has much fewer episodes than the old version so if you are not interested to commit to the series for over a hundred episodes then it may be wiser to pick DNT over the 90s series

Do they have major main story differences?

Pilot was very close to original with some cosmetic changes.

Only very minor story differences. DNT is more strictly based on the books than the 90s version

I see, well i'm more into story anyway so i'll watch some more original to decide.

Aaah it will finally come out in the spring next/this year
