As there seems to be no active reserves as well (otherwise they could have at least tried to slow Wagner down) it clearly means Putin had known it's just a game.

Yes, which is few hundred kilometers deep into the country. If Putin considered civil war a possibility he would've tried to stop them earlier because losing control over few intact Russian regions is more dangerous than losing some occupied territory in Ukraine. This deployment was just a precaution out of Putin's paranoia I guess.
