So the old shows like the old Star Treks were also full of multiculturalism and feminism, yet they feel cozy as fuck. Whereas contemporary shows, even those with high production values, 95% feel like insufferable woke trash. What's the difference?

I just thought about it watching the third episode of The Last of Us yesterday, the problem with this shit today is that it feels forced, it is not organic. It's poor writing just trying so hard to look progressive and attract viewers, it's like a choice an advertisement production would make. It just doesn't make sense. And I liked Brokeback Mountain, I liked the Vito storyline on Sopranos, I liked the gayness in Oz and all that other stuff, because it felt real and fitting

It was a total filler

It was really weird putting that into the 3rd episode of a completely new show, and to make it the whole episode as well especially since the characters are gone just after they have been introduced in such extension. Would have been ok if they wrapped it up in 15mins or if the characters were a constant in the future
