Yesterday I watched ans movie about japanese men playing a dating sim called 'LovePlus'. The first part of the movie feels like a documentary with each of the three men telling us about their lives and of course we get to see them play LovePlus. All three of them go on a 'vacation trip' to Atami.
Then its style switches to somewhat of a comedic drama, with the (obviously) fictional couple Kyoko (played by four different ex-idols) and Kentaro taking a vacation in Atami themselves. The theme changes from just being a sad depiction of japanese reality to dealing with issues such as the image of women in japanese society and Kyoko's inability to compete with a virtual girlfriend.
Overall I rate it weird/very sad. Some parts of the documentary segment feel extremely staged, but maybe thats just me being unable to comprehend how someone could be married to a russian cute and still prefer to play a dating sim like Love Plus. Would still recommend to watch it though.
