I got banned from 4chan's /tv/ for asking people to recommend me misogynistic movies. Can you believe it? Apparently, that's considered "trolling" now. Of course, I immediately evaded the ban and told the jannies to suck my dick, but it still left a sour taste in my mouth. Are people like me welcome here? Is there even any place left on the internet for real men?

Start making quality posts immediately or you will be banned and sent back to 4kanker

Please be patient, I'm Italian. But I really like it here so far. No captchas? An edit function? Hell yeah.

How did you find this place? Should we expect an invasion?

I used to post on 8chan, and you guys migrated there for a while. I'm pretty much a hermit, don't have discord or anything, so your secret is safe (for now).

Maybe shouldn't be a secret as long as there isn't a flood of bad quality normie posts.

Are you prosciutto bro from /his/?

I can't think of any online community that managed to become popular without suffering from a drop in the quality of its content. And these days you also have to worry about bots and shills...

I don't eat prosciutto, only mozzarella and frittata spaghettata.

Lots of good moderators and quality stays.
Though I believe it is impossible to moderate 4chan or yli to remove all the scum.
ItalyBernd2022-03-19 13:59:23 · 4yNo. 141857reply
When a country has lots of laws, it's usually a sign that people can't behave themselves and civility must be enforced. I believe the same is true for imageboards. Not to mention, that having a big team of moderators carries with it its own problems. There's the risk of getting infiltrated by people who don't share the community's values, or simply can't handle their little power. There's a reason why "internet moderators" have a bad reputation. The less you need, the better, imho.

Nobody seems to remember it, but 4chan, and especially /pol/, was raided by literal fascists (Stormfront) who saw its potential for spreading their ideas. It's part of the whole culture war that's been brewing for the past few decades. The fact that progressive propaganda is almost impossible to escape, even in your niche hobbies (like Warhammer, Magic the Gathering, etc), means that lots of people feel forced to pick a side. Unfortunately, I don't have a solution to this ongoing politicization/polarization.

You seem like a quality poster by the way.

>There's the risk of getting infiltrated by people who don't share the community's values
That's what I meant with the luck of getting good moderators, it is hard of course.

Also beside those fascists aren't the only problem but just all kinds of normies spamming scat because it has gotten so much media attention. Same thing with ylilauta.

Pissing on authority is always based, but any hatred, not just misogyny, is life poison. Best taken in small doses to remind you about what you love.

“I am nauseated too by this big city and not only by this fool. Here as
there nothing can be bettered, nothing can be worsened.
Woe to this big city! – And I wish I already saw the pillar of fire in
which it will burn!
For such pillars of fire must precede the great noon. But this has its
own time and its own destiny. –
Meanwhile, you fool, I give you this lesson in parting: where one can
no longer love, there one should – pass by!”

>any hatred, not just misogyny, is life poison.

This is true, but there is the hatred we feel, and the hatred we receive. There's a lot of hatred toward men in movies. As someone who's been the victim of female violence, it's incredibly frustrating to see so many scenes of female-on-male violence in movies, always treated as normal. That's why I asked for misogynistic movies, not because I want to spend my time hating women, but for the opposite reason, because I think it'd be therapeutic.

> because I think it'd be therapeutic
It wouldn't. Do you think PTSD therapy for war veterans include watching scenes of war where their side is winning? Hatred brings only more hatred even if it's facing the opposite direction.
ItalyBernd2022-03-19 16:45:43 · 4yNo. 141905reply
It'd be interesting to compare the number of laws for various countries, but I can't seem to find any such list online.

I'm not an expert on PTSD therapy for war veterans, but I think there's a difference here. The violence I'm referring to is pretty mild, in other words, it's not so much the violence itself that causes stress, but its moral implications. A war veteran becomes traumatized because of the sheer extreme brutality he witnessed. In my case, I couldn't defend myself when I was attacked, despite being stronger than the attacker, because I knew I'd be punished for it, and she wouldn't. And I see this same double standard in movies, which is the true source of stress and anxiety for me. Just for once, I want to watch a movie where it's the opposite, where it's considered okay for men to beat women and not the other way around.

What about tomboys?

> And I see this same double standard in movies, which is the true source of stress and anxiety for me
Don't watch them then. Cancel them.
> I want to watch a movie where it's the opposite
Why wouldn't you instead watch a movie where people are equal and it's never okay to beat someone? I believe it'd be more therapeutic, and supporting such films would also make our world better.
ItalyBernd2022-03-19 17:17:44 · 4yNo. 141916reply
Tomboys are okay, I guess, except when you get a crush on them and they seem to like you too, but you're too shy to ask them out, and then years later you find out they moved to Australia and married a girl.

>Don't watch them then. Cancel them.
That's pretty much what I'm already doing, although in practice, it means not watching any new movies anymore for the rest of my life, because I don't know in advance if they contain a "triggering" scene.
>Why wouldn't you instead watch a movie where people are equal and it's never okay to beat someone?
Because it wouldn't soothe my resentment. But if you can recommend any such movie, I might still watch it.
