Not really. Many classic movies were around the 90 minute mark. And I think that is for a good reason.
Psycho, 109 minutes
Dr Strangelove, 93 minutes
Aguirre, 94 minutes
Texas Chainsaw Massacre, 83 minutes
Reservoir Dogs, 99 minutes
Of course there are longer movies that are very good, too. But if you go well beyond the 2 hour mark, near 3 hours, there really needs to be good pacing and content worthwhile watching. Sadly, in my personal experience going to cinema in the last few years, that is often not the case. And it's different in cinema compared to watching at home, too. Because you're already there, standing in line, waiting, then watching ads and stuff for about half an hour to an hour and then you can't take a break to go to the toilet or something.
