I swear I fucking hate using Android. Maybe it's the specific phone I have but:
> there's no convenient way to read pdfs. Most programs barely work and don't even seem to have a functionality that will let you see the file history. Can't use the browser to read pdfs
> the browsers are shit and I literally can't attach an image to a post on Chrome (wtf)

Are you guys happy with your phones or not cause I'm about to throw this bitch out the window

HungaryBernd2025-11-27 18:17:20 · 11mnNo. 351356reply
I don't use smartphones.
What I expect from a phone:
- making calls
- sending sms/messages
- display time
- timer alert
- calendar
That's about it.
All smartphones suck.
1. Security problems. It's a wiretap. It's a geolocator. It can be used to collect insane data of you.
2. overprices shitty hardware
3. sucks as a computer can't do anything properly on it I'd expect on a computer: can't read, can't write, can't program.
4. sucks as an e-book reader, I rather use an e-ink device.

you're right pretty much it sucks
ironically for me it makes a phone less addictive than a pc because of how useless it is

RussiaHumanoid robots threadBernd2025-01-04 16:26:13 · 2yNo. 330649reply
Humanoid robots are the next big thing, same as electric vehicles and AI. This thread will be about that.

China for example recognized it, and they already invest billions into setting up factories that are producing and researching humanoid robots.
Their big cities have specific grants and preferential conditions for companies that do this - as i understand it, if you are a company that builds humanoid robots, the government will give you land, and won't ask for taxes on electricity if you do this production in Shanghai and some other cities.

Russiasex dollsBernd2022-08-12 10:46:15 · 4yNo. 216104reply
Turns out the technology gone really far. They make them already very convincing, more interactive and sensible. Capitalism and competition work wonders, beacuse turns out whoever makes the good doll, becomes very popular, there are sites where users write reviews of their sex dolls and doll-makers read them and try to improve the quality of their product, even do some real science research.
Pictures of new CIRI doll. The head is the real kicker here, because the body is more like a generic body. This dolls is 168sm height, limbs are moving and can be fixed, skin is soft to touch, jaw is moving.

How to keep your TV from spying on you:
Take the back off, look for a wire that goes to a small module which generally is at the top or the bottom edge.
Unplug it and tape it down. The TV will assume the wifi card failed and will continue to operate just fine.
Smart TV features will no longer work, which is what you want.
If you ever need to update the firmware you can always plug in the RJ-45 jack to a router, then unplug when finished.

All "Smart" TV's will still sniff the internet via wireless when getting ads and sending your viewing habits to them as part of their profit schemes, even if you turn off wifi on the TV.

Eeeeh. They aren't really for privacy but can be used to escape government censorship if they block sites at local ISPs.

I'm going to leave an invitation to a crypto pump group on Telegram.

In this pump group you don't need to know anything about the market or know how to operate or anything like that, you just buy and sell at the price they send you. To join the VIP group you talk to the moderator, who is the @ in the posts.

You just need to understand the basics of crypto, buying and selling on Binance, etc. It's really easy.

I'll also leave my Bitcoin wallet address here in case you want to thank me later.
