New boots arrived, but the colour of the vamp was too bright. Attempting to recolour it to a proper darker navy, like the upper shaft is.

First attempt failed, had to strip it away, I guess I didn't manage to remove enough of waxes, greases and oils at first attempt due to the stuff I used for it was too weak. Bought proper aceton at second attempt even after using Saphirs Réno'Mat, it felt to weak, I wanted to be sure I got all the stuff out properly this time.

The dye is from a local cobbler, "Cheq Brill Tine Dye Plus" not so happy with it, it dryes up too fast, becomes immediately stikcky and it makes it harder to make an even finish. Also seems to leave a metallic finishing. Hopefully I won't be forced to remove this coating too.
Letting first layer dry until tomorrow, then a second layer and I'll see if the result is acceptable.

Additional info: the quality of Finnish cobblers and shoemaking industry suffered due to easy money from selling low quality stuff to the USSR, and when USSR collapsed our shoeindustry wasn't able to compete in western markets and it collapsed too, and the quality is still recovering, and naturally nowhere near markets that have been competitive for all this time.

What size are those?

I also found old jeans in the wardrobe and decided to attempt something I have never done before: I'll try to dye them darker in the washing machine. Sort of #yoloed, thew in a bag of both navy and black colour because someone on google said it was possible.
Fingers crossed, they are in the washing machine now, hoping for a really dark washed result.

They are size 10 UK, but this manufacturers sizes run a bit small, so they are more like a size 9-9,5UK.
I usually use a size 43 EU, and if I take a size 9,5UK from this manufacturer it feels a bit too small.

Jeans are looking promising! Satisfying result so far. Let's see tomorrow what they look like when they are dry and in daylight.
The negative part of this was that the dyes were supposed to be harmless for the washing machine, but there was plenty of dye left on its door.
Will have to try to clean that somehow, hoping a 60 degree program would take care of it. We'll see.

Decided to celebrate and made me some delicious organic popcorn.

Good and bad news.
Good news: jeans are looking good, the shade looks great. Will have to wear them and see how the dye behaves.

The bad news: the dye on the shoes seems to be shit in some places, almost coming off, what the fuck is up with this dye, I regret buying it.
I kept for such a long time rubbing oils and such away from the leather with aceton that there should be 0 wax or oil left on them, so that should not be the reason. Something is off with this type of quickly drying dye, I'm not surprised people on youtube videos use completely different type of dyes. I might have to rip this dye off too.
But I'll give it one more chance and I dyed them with a second layer now. Tomorrow I will moisturize them and we will see what happens, does the dye stick or not. If not, then I am going to be very disappointed.

Good news, the finishing result wasn't too shabby, mink oil, conditioner and especially wax polish was a game changer and changed the outcome.
Quite happy with the result, it was my first attempt ever after all, learned some things.
