Here's a /sci/ worthy thread. Desmos is basically a math engine where you can plot graphs, but, it's also capable of something even greater.
Math art and even videogames.

They are even holding art contests! I honestly always wanted to draw something with math so maybe I'll try eventually. I should probably try posting about this on lainchan or something.

On topic of drawing with math, I tried doing some stuff on shadertoy. The stuff people there make is pretty amazing.
Here's a few of mine. Yeah they suck

Trying to understand some calculus stuff from my uni was the reason I got into this. Here's a book I want to read about it. People say it's very very good.

Hmm. Anything drawn on a computer is math, since the computer only understands that. The user might not experience that part since he just moves the mouse around, or the stylus/pen on the tablet but behind the scene it is.
Now it is possible for the user to draw programmatically - this is how graphics was done in the command line era - and then he has to use math.
Otherwise I can't really add much to the topic, I lack of understanding of all that. Well perhaps if I put my mind to it, but that needs time, which I lack even more.

Yeah, of course an artist's software uses math. Though it is a bit different when you have to get down to it yourself. I think it can be pretty educational. Plus, I suck at drawing with my hands so maybe drawing with equations will turn out better.

From what I saw Bezier curves are the best thing for making lineart. I will try it later.

I’ve done things like this before.

One of my favorite insults to give a song is that it sounds like a Desmos graph, and people are usually surprised that desmos has this feature and want to test everything.

you can also do MUSIC in this? Wow, desmos is amazing.
I hear three.js coders are sought after. This library also involves shader work.

However a lot of what he says is still true.
