Dark energy is in the universe making 68% of our universe it’s embedded into the universe not out of it. It definitely implies that there are different kinds of universe but that’s more for back up models. (I recommend looking at the Fridmann equations)

If there was a parallel universe it would probably be here but more and more theories say that the universe makes “baby universes” in it. For example we a theory (black hole cosmology) saying black hole are just more universes but considering fucking Kurzgesagt made a video on it then I discredited it and if you know my sources than you know I love arXiv but there’s only two articles on there so not likely.

I actually have a book briefly discussing some universe model (How the Universe Works page 24) most of them are for one universe but there is one for at least 4 universe the “Self-Regenerating universe which teams to have a lot more backing (note this is not confirmed or may never be confirmed it’s just a theory there are plenty of other theories with more backing even if the equation describing the dynamics of these perturbations have 84 ∇s)
