Btw a fun fact is that the name "Catalunya" comes from Gothenland which meas "Land of the Goths".
>One theory suggests that Catalunya derives from the name Gothia (or Gauthia) Launia ("Land of the Goths"), since the origins of the Catalan counts, lords and people were found in the March of Gothia, known as Gothia, whence Gothland > Gothlandia > Gothalania > Cathalaunia > Catalonia theoretically derived. During the Middle Ages, Byzantine chroniclers claimed that Catalania derives from the local medley of Goths with Alans, initially constituting a Goth-Alania.

Whenever I want to trigger a assp*niard I just tell them based Catalonia is the land of the goths while cringe Asspain is the land of the moors.
And is not a lie, Catalona is literally the only part in the Iberian peninsula with Germanic DNA aside from Galicia. Meanwhile if you check for African DNA it is almost everywhere on Iberia except the Basque Country and Catalonia (Galicia has some, idk why).
Maybe it is because of this strong Visigothic heritage that the Catalan language sounds more Germanic while the Asspanish language has a strong semitic Arabic/Hebrew influence.
