Kohlchan is not down, but it is flooded with pedophiles(they're encouraged by its administration). And it is one of the reasons this board exists.

 

There are also other KC bunkers on different boards, but to my knowledge they are all dead now.

As in numbers very few because vary few people ever wondered about krautchan and there for not a lot of community. But if you are asking what is the sense of community here then the answer is a LOT. Because of our small numbers it feels more like a family were we all know each other and recognize different characters on this website. In this place you will get heard were on other image boards you are talking to a wall of people who may or may not even know you exist, .rip is not like that , not like that at all.

The old internet is dead and will never come back. Think of krautchan.rip less of a successor or a recreation of KC but more of a continuation of the original, one that is adapting to the modern time. The new lingua franca across the board is English instead of German of course there are other pockets like /DE/, /RU/ and especially /HS/ with different languages but across the website we speak English. That’s just one difference form the original. For to truly appreciate and respect .rip you must understand this is not the original KC this is the KC that survived.
