It reminds one of vidya music
And even aside from that, there is something about it that instantly feels jabanese

I must lack some sort of distinctive sense for music styles. For me it just sounds like a classical piece... That said, on the topic of classical music, I really like Danse Macabre. I first heard it as a child while playing 102 Dalmatians Puppies to the Rescue. It was a Carnival theme. Then I heard it again this year, but in Mewgenics! I was surprised to find out that this is actually about death.

There's also a version with vocals I like too.

I must return to the topic of Moby
There is almost nothing ever recorded that is as soulful as this album, it's almost lile the soundtrack to Amélie or or Moominvalley Tales

Hi Bernds, what songs (or musicians) have you been listening to the most as of late?

I usually listen to songs like Laufey's or Misky's, they're good, but listening to the audio you posted reminds me of several songs of that type, it unlocked some memories hehe

I recently discovered a new Post-Punk band called "Dry cleaning" by their new album "Secret Love". Within the album I found "Secret Love (Concealed in a Drawing of a Boy)" and "Hit My Head All Day" very charming.

I still keep listening to the same albums over and over again. I feel disconnected with this decade's music, even though I am in my twenties. Radio stations in my country just play old recycled playlist for millenials and unless I go out of my way to find them on spotify I wouldn't find the 'Pop hits' I often see in lists.
Friends and family are also stuck in their own music comfort-zones, so I can see its a little bit more common. Do you anons also relate?

Yeah relate heavily, but idk if growing my music taste through /mu/ kinda fucked me over.

What music do you like? These past couple of years I’ve veen getting more and more into more ambient, drone and modern classical territory.

>I feel disconnected with this decade's music
I can relate to this. I also listen the same music over and over. Except there is a bunch to pick from. Except some has nostalgic value and generally wont pick them because of this. Occasionally I find something new. Some net radios helped in this in the past. Or I search something on youtube and go through the hits and then something comes up.
For example I started to search Funky Cold Medina covers, and I found a breddy fun one by a metal band called L.O.C. so I dl'd their other songs from youtube. Then I found a covery by the Mexican rap-rock band, Molotov. And then I searched some stuff from them and tried to torrent albums, sadly could get only 2.
RomaniaBernd2025-12-04 11:27:12 · 7mnNo. 351585reply
I relate. I have been processing some stuff recently so old music I used to listen to lost its appeal to me. Instead I'm listening to weirder stuff because it matches something internally. Ambient music and speeches specifically.

Like this. It's a Russian audio book overlapped with music. I just like the text

>His feet are light and nimble. He never sleeps. He says that he will never die. He dances in light and in shadow and he is a great favorite. He never sleeps, the judge. He is dancing, dancing. He says that he will never die.

United StatesMaggie Rogers Appreciation ThreadBernd2025-10-07 00:59:55 · 9mnNo. 349830reply
On the surface, Maggie Rogers embodies everything I loathe about modern female Pop. She's a progressive poster child who stumps for the Democratic Party, cites feminist theory like scripture and serenades a liberal middle-class audience hellbent on transforming America into a political monoculture. This dissonance between her girl-next-door image on album with her high-class call girl Gala appearances cannot be ignored. My inner Carl Schmitt demands the friend/enemy distinction, but I sheath my sword for her. Beneath the activism lies something rarer than ideological alignment: raw humanity.

Surrender sounds like a private journal blasted through stadium-sized hooks. Energetic and upbeat songs like "Shatter", "Want Want" and "Overdrive" hit with fuzzed adrenaline while "Be Cool" exhales into groove-cooled calm. Other songs like "Anywhere With You" and "Begging for Rain" drip with melancholy without being maudlin. Nothing stagnates; even the quiet tracks stay in motion.

Maggie's resonant purity inspires building futures or collapsing into the arms of someone who loves you after a brutal day. All told, it may be the most unapologetically human album ever to breach Pop radio
