Ukraine ask for tanks and other heavy weapons from Germany. Why German politicans are so feared to make clear, that military support is limited? Because we have nothing to send what makes sense. Around 70 % of our tanks are in the repair workshop since years. We could send our old G3 but we have not enough ammo. We only can send 2000 from 2700 Strela from the NVA. They are 30 Years old and moldy. In addition they try to make a secret of that what germany exactly want to send.

Now they start to discuss how best blow up the 100 mrd. € bucket in the next 20 years. They talk about using it for humanity operations, because its a security issue. Warm Underware is also an extrem important security issue. The shopping list is to depressing.

You know that your unit is here with you and you know the general direction of some friendly units as well. Then you shoot everything else.
This is why communication is so important for war, and that the officers are always aware of the location of nearby friendly units.
Engagement distances are usually far enough anyway, that you can't really see what weapons or uniform "the enemy"is wearing or what kind of a rifle he is carrying, so you just shoot at moving blobs in the distance if they come from some direction you weren't told have friendlies there.
And when the engagement distance is short enough, you'll shoot targets based on their uniform colors, not based on their haplotype or accent.

Given Russia's massive fuckups on the battlefield past first two days & continuing would be a bad idea for internal affairs but also importance of saving face for domestic audience, a realistic possibility I'd say is:
- Donetsk and Lugansk get guaranteed bilingual status (thus satisfying the "protect ethnic Russians in Ukraine" position)
- Ukraine disbands Azov battalion and launches investigation regarding possible war crimes &c. (thus satisfying the "denazification" position – note that they aren't really that popular within Ukraine, Biletsky's party won "only" 2% popular vote in 2019 nationally and 23 / 158,399 regional deputy seats in 2020)
- Ukraine doesn't continue negotiations with NATO (which doesn't want them anyway, this has been clear since 2008) – negotiations with EU however can proceed (I don't think it's realistic to become full member before 2040 at the very earliest tho, given Ukraine's situation)
- possibly, Ukraine agrees to surrender Crimea – given current situation, I don't think Ukraine is in position to demand it back

US of A sold Ukraine 150 Javelins in 2019 for 40million dollars.
If we assume that 100% of that cost is just the tubes and the missiles(which probably isn't the case as Murricans during those times certainly wanted to make a profit + the bureaucratic costs, transfer costs and whatever) the most expensive estimate is 260k each. Missiles themselves according to other sources cost 180k each, and i doubt the tube itself is too expensive. So i'd estimate the overall cost is bellow 200k.
Cost of a single T80 tank is in the range of 2-3million dollars, so if it takes less than 10 javelins to take one T80 down, it's worth it.
T-72s are more difficult to estimate, but even the most optimistic estimation makes them at least worth half a million up to a million.

The siege of Mariupol is trying to minimize civilian casualties? They cut off the cities water supply ffs. If they have all the time in the world to fight this war slowly they could skirmish on the outskirts until the defenders run out of ammunition to fight back, instead they are leveling commie blocks indiscriminately and starving everyone out to get them to surrender as soon as possible.
Russia went in with the wrong plan and expectations of what kind of fight this would be. Civilians be damned.

Wow, the entire problem is that ukrainian "military" is immidietly fucked in open face to face confrontation so the only two options they have is to go and hide in residential areas or surrender. While inside they hold civilians hostage because otherwise if civilians leave they will just get leveled indiscriminately.

Letting anyone leave while a city is fully surrounded is a liability, you do not want anyone to reveal information on your defensive positions even if unintentionally.

Apparently Ukrainian journalists confirmed that the video of Poccian prisoners getting kneecapped was in fact not a fake and happened in Rohan when it was recaptured.

Meanwhile on the battlefront, Ukraine is advancing on Kherson from north and northeast, and broke siege of Sumy and Chernigov.
It really depends on how things keep developing. I kind of expect Ukraine trying to fix its radicals issue once the current situation stabilizes, not so much because of international image but simply because it's a liability for political stability. But if Ukraine remains under constant threat, be it from Russia or EU (unlikely now, but who knows what happens next), the rabid dogs will be allowed to stay.
And yes it would be surprising if nobody on Ukrainian side ever engaged in this kind of stuff. We know how Slavs make war well from the 90s.
