China is ok with Status quo

 

Right now Chinese economy grows 3 to 5% each year and their navy adds 2 to 5 capital ships each year. China doesn't need to attack Taiwan right now, when they will be stronger next year. And they also don't need to attack Taiwan next year, because they will be stronger the year after that.

At some point China will have 5 to 7 aircraft carriers, enormous UAV force, million of missiles, chip making capability that will devalue that of Taiwan and then Taiwan will have to return on their own, even knocking on the door asking to join PRC

 

Americans only obsess about Taiwan invasion, because they want China to be stupid and attack Taiwan now, when China is not as strong as it could have been in the future. Americans think now that if China attacks Taiwn, there is a chance USA can stop Chinese invasion and Chinese rise simultaneously, by creating the image of Rogue China, putting sanctions on China and drawing coalition of countries against China to stop investment in light of Taiwan war.

But Chinese are not stupid. They will just grow muscle and wait untill Taiwan and USA deform. China really wants to preserve its lucrative investment lure status. More and more countries invest into China, and they wouldn't be doing that if China were to start some dumb war over Taiwan now when not all cards are in place.

Right now China doesnt have its aircraft carrier 003 in place with its full airwing. There are not anough J-20 fighters, the strategic bomber H-20 is still in development. These things could be decisive and help China to defeat Taiwan and hold Japan/USA from interfering, right now CHina doesn't have chip making capability comparable to Taiwan and in case of war all Taiwanese factories could be destroyed, and that would be very bad for China too. It is better for China just to wait and grow.
