It is, but reading it from start to end is not really the intended way.
 
You are supposed to know the basics of the religion/history of the people of Israel, like Noah, Abraham, Adam and stuff, and then know why Jesus is such a big deal. Then you can reference back to the OT in research.
 
The NT however is made in different flavours. However since y'all know the basics, and probably don't really need to use biblical quotes in everyday conversations to make a point, it would be most beneficial to read Acts and the letters.
