usually i wet back side of paper, so it stick to the board

 

this way the paper stays wet for much longer

 

what paper do you use? cotton like oligarch?

Whats the point of making watercolors if your paper can't contain the water?

impossibru to paint on dry paper. the only option if you want to control you first layer to paint on half wet paper

 

i did not try out the expensive papers tho

I know, there are many tricks and techniques involving different degrees of wetness and of applying the water.

What im saying is that you need to use paper that can absorb the water to really explore the possibilities watercolors offer.

i use this one for good paintings

 

it absorbs tons of water

 

to play around with colors i take really cheap one
