i dunno i just play mordhau, maybe its adhd and i cant focus on story driven games.

on the other hand i watch shit like planescape playthrus before sleep, but i cant make myself play it.

I doubt I will need to buy anything after grabbing that Shogun 2 for free.

What else might I need in my life?

 

I have sames, i love watching people play older games from my youth, but cant play them myself anymore. Tried Baldurs gate II a year or so back and quickly deinstalled it again, the graphics and everything are just not that good as i remembered. Its sometimes best to leave such games as a nice memory .

same with movies, some of them i wish i never re-watched, but sometimes there are exceptions.

I can higly recommend Total war Warhammer II if your into Fantasy. It has lots of different factions with a completly different vibe and strategies to it. Also the Mods for it are great.

The warhammer mod for Medieval II is better.

Can't play without the histrocal context.

I need to recognize the toy soldiers I move around the screen.

And Shogun II is somehow the most historically accurate TW game up to date, they never matched it neither before nor after.

 

I wanted Atilla for the Medieval mod alone but some guy on kz talked me out of it.

 

And Europa Barbarorum II is better than Rome II as well.

Wonder if that Atilla mod is going to be better than Med III.

Oh i tried that but it was pure madness playing as the Imperium. I have like 2 maxed out armys while after a few rounds there spawned like 40 Full stacks of elite Chaos armys. I get it, its the endtimes but it just is no fun to get your ass kicked that hard. Also i dont like it that you cant control your second army in a battle. you can only control 20 instead of 40 units like in Warhammer II.

 

Also if you want a more hardcore Med II warhammer experience, there are mods for that to increase the chaos invasion. the SFO mod for Warhammer II adds lots of new chaos incursions, like van Horstmanns Tzeentch invasion, a nurgle plague in the empire that spawns chaos armys etc. Its very interesting.

 

Have you tried Rome II with the Divide et Impera mod? I greatly enjoyed that, not only for the realistic gameplay itself but also for the background infos you get in each year.

Which version did you try? The new version that was released just before total wawa 1 and updated since has far less stack spawning than the original russian mod.

 

Divide et Impera is much better than vanilla Rome 2 but it's nowhere near as good as EBII.

Nu-Total war combat is just dull.

Didn't try to mod any of the Nu-TW games outside Shogun 2. Not even Shogun is properly moddable, I'm afraid we will never see Med II or RTW tier mods. Greedy bastards decided they'd rather be covering any niche historical period like early Medieval Britain rather than let people have fun and mod their games.

To hell with it, maybe I will buy it on the summer sale but CA's marketing model is a joke. They sell FoTS as a separate game now for fuck's sake.

 

Also I believe that waiting for the summer sale before buying Bannerlord would be the smarter thing to do.

Yeah, you should try again. It even has flying units now.

I dont know....I also disliked the improvised "magic" in the game. But oh well, its summersale...medieval II with the addons is on steam isnt it? Could give it a try for the sake of it.
