TexasRIP = slowBernd2026-05-10 04:42:00 · 2mnNo. 359190reply
I remember the speed check on KC to see how fast it is.

>Scroll to the bottom of the first page and see how long ago the last comment was.

The fastest I’ve seen was maybe 5 hours, the average has been slowly declining for a while now. From 4 days to 8 days which used to be the average to the worst I’ve ever seen. A MONTH how it is today.

How do we solve this problem, pretty much everything we could had done is done. Wat now?
SwitzerlandBernd2026-05-10 07:35:27 · 2mnNo. 359191reply
RIP ripchan. Seems more people post on orgchan now. I think ripchan has a weird identity crisis. It has many features that netchan didn't habe, yet it brands itself Krautchan instead of something new. I can't tell if it wants to be something new or something old. Orgchan went straight for the nostalgia, look and feel are pretty close to Netchan.

Maybe you should choose, either be something new and then drop some of the "we are Krautchan" and develop a unique identity, or say "we are Krautchan, so we join forces with Orgchan". They won the nostalgia race.

I can imagine how it must feel to see fewer and fewer posters on the board you love and put so much time and effort into.

Sorry that I didn’t get to you sooner, I’ve been busy all day and likely for the rest of the week.

As you can probably guess I have a lot to say on this topic however I would like to start out with YES ,I agree , if KC were a city kohlchan would be New York or Seattle, looks good and is full of life only to look deeper and realize it is a false sense of hope, as it is plagued with rotten people and trouble. .org is like Berlin, or Paris a landmark of KC history that is destined to transcend time. It is stable, people enjoy it and unlike Dubai it has to secret labor camp, KC.org is pure as it is a classical work of art. The others such as endchan’s KC, mintboard‘s KC, KC.top, are all like small insignificant cities, Sherman, Benediktbeuern, Ex-Hacienda de Ojo Ciego. Cities that maybe important but are ultimately forgotten and not in public knowledge. KC.rip that who is like bethlehem, who is like the Vatican, who is like san diego de la union. People do not come here to have based opinions or start new memes, they come here to post on a place called KC but perhaps is only KC by name. KC.rip has stood and seen .net grow and die, and who by now, has out lived the original KC by some years. People outside of .rip short of just marvel at the feats done in the name of KC without actually using the website. Castles and obelisks made in 3D on an image board, consciousness created out of Bernd threads, the total deletion on CP from our website, the interconnectedness and involvement with the mods and the community of KC. Most are recent advancements there are still very few people on this board who is here to see it.

If you know me you can probably guess that I have another plan. If that doesn’t work then I think of another one. I can imagine both worlds where we either become hamstakilla again or unite with orgchan. However it is may duty as mod to not fall so easily, like a dying snake, I will do everything to stay alive as the same goes for KC.rip. I will not let this place fall to kohl nor will we fall to .org so soon in its history, I’ve seen so many other KCs fail, I will not let this place end up on that list. KC will one day rest in peace, the day that happens is the day me and pool die.

You brought this on yourselves after the fall of /HS/, it was only inevitable even if it took a couple of years or so. Agreed that place was cancerous though but still since the removal of HS there has been a noticeable decline. At it's peak there use to be 50 or more bernds online everyday but over the last 2 years or so that has been steadily declining and not many new posts and threads on here these days. Surprised this IB is still up and running tbh.

Is orgchan the same as 4chan? I don’t visit it often, but I noticed that having a section in my native language is quite unique for a successor to krautchan. I don’t recall my native language ever being a permanent feature on krautchan.
But as someone from a community that isn’t German-speaking or English-speaking, I can say that this trend is evident in our community as well. There’s only one major platform, and it often has a lot of money and resources — 4chan was funded by Epstein, 2ch is funded by Putin — and overall, the imageboards, forums, and social networks are in decline because most of the traffic is generated automatically; according to the latest estimates, it’s definitely at least 60%.
People don’t go online to socialize, but to waste their time or money pointlessly in order to get a cheap dopamine hit. That’s all there is to it.

Orgchan is not like 4chan, orgchan is probably one of the best image boards out there besides dot rip

>People don’t go online to socialize, but to waste their time or money pointlessly in order to get a cheap dopamine hit.
I agree, this is why the most cancerous boards are the ones that are most popular. It’s pure shock value and funny clips at rapid pace, this is probably why .rip isn’t as popular as say kohlchan.

When a forum thread or community page takes a month for a new comment to appear, the conversation is effectively dead. To solve this, you either need to drive a massive wave of new engagement to the thread or bite the bullet and migrate the community to a more active, modern platform. If you want to try and salvage the current page, you have already done the heavy lifting. The only remaining "hail mary" moves are to:Seed the thread: Ask a few core community members to all post unique questions or topics on the page at the same time to create the illusion of a sudden resurgence in activity.Direct external traffic: Promote the thread link on other active social media platforms (such as X, Facebook, or local Reddit pages like Reddit Kansas City) to drive new visitors to the comments. If all else fails and you have exhausted every effort to keep it alive, the best solution is a fresh start. Transition the community to a modern, centralized platform where users can get notifications, such as a Discord server, a Substack, or an active subreddit. To determine the best path forward, tell me:What type of platform is this page currently hosted on (e.g., a traditional blog, a niche forum, a Facebook group)?Who is the target audience of the community? What was the primary topic of conversation when it was most active?Knowing these details will help map out a plan for a seamless transition.
United StatesBernd2026-06-11 16:33:03 · 2wNo. 361351reply
When an imageboard reaches the point where a single thread's last bump stretches from days to an entire month, the community has passed the tipping point of critical mass. In the classic chan lifecycle, once the core user base fragments and moves on to faster, more dynamic platforms, artificially reviving the original board is rarely possible.Since you've already tried everything to jumpstart the community, these are your most realistic paths moving forward:1. Archiving and PreservationBefore the server goes completely dark, consider setting up a static archive to preserve the board's history. Tools like HTTrack or open-source imageboard downloaders allow users to scrape and save thread history. Platforms like Archive.org can host these datasets permanently as a digital time capsule.2. Community MigrationThe most successful transitions happen when the remaining regulars coordinate a mass migration together.Identify where the bulk of your active user base is currently lurking (often Discord servers, Matrix channels, or other surviving niche imageboards).Post a prominent sticky thread or header redirecting users to the new location to consolidate your community.3. Open Sourcing the PlatformIf you hold administrator or developer access to the site, consider open-sourcing the board's backend. Releasing the infrastructure, codebase, and CSS themes on platforms like GitHub allows the core community to fork the project, spin up new private nodes, or use the exact framework for other thematic projects.
