Peter Wessel Zapffe work is pretty interesting and is worth the read that leaves you questioning the very fundamental nature of being alive.
I see a lot of discussion about Existential Elk Theory. Basically saying that self awareness will be the down fall of man kind. It’s interesting and somewhat edgy, I find the fact that we use human geographical models to describe human behavior and growth but biological models to describe other species to be sort of a prove that it has some truth. I find it interesting that in the demographic transition model MDCs despite having more advanced technology people have less children (like in Japan) ,ultimately leading to the decline and later extinction of the human species that comes with development and intelligence.
