I don’t care about my freedom of speech on a website I don’t use, I care about the spying on there and that’s why I don’t use it
Why are Americans pretending that Tik-Tok won't survive without them? Sure its a lot of revenue coming from USA, but this site will continue to function everywhere else.
And Americans even threaten, that if they don't sell Tik-tok to American oligarch, they will ban it in America. Thats so ridiculous. Imagine if Russian government said "Reee, if Google doesn't sell itself to Russian big money man, we will ban you!!"
its retarded. And besides. i've seen details about this so called "ban". People who still have this app and use it, can continue to use it, they will just stop offering it in google apps. So millions of American users who already on tik-tok can continue using it as if nothing happens. And they want to force tik-tok to sell to the american oligarch with this toothless threat, and people around the world worry about this shitty american threat drama against tik-tok?
The potential ways to keep using TikTok if it’s banned
Odds are that if the Supreme Court declares the TikTok law constitutional and if a ban goes into effect, blacklisting the app from the Apple and Google app stores will be enough to stop most people from using TikTok.
But for people dedicated to TikTok, the law and technology would allow for ways to keep using it, including options like those listed below. (TikTok didn’t respond to a request for comment.)
• Keep using the app that’s already on your phone. If a ban goes into effect and Apple and Google block TikTok from pushing updates to the app on your phone, it may become buggy or broken over time.
But no one is quite sure how long it would take for the TikTok app to become unusable or compromised in this situation.
• Use a VPN. A virtual private network, or VPN, is software that can make it appear as though you’re surfing The Washington Post website from Stockholm when you’re really in Sioux Falls.
When the social media site X was (briefly) banned by Brazil’s government last year, sign-ups to Proton VPN surged 1,200 percent in the country in a single day, the Swiss email and VPN company said at the time.

• Download the TikTok app outside the app stores. It’s not easy, but it is possible in some cases to download smartphone apps from places other than the Apple and Google app stores. Those methods could become a model for TikTok if a ban goes into effect.
The Fortnite mobile video games have been blacklisted since 2020 from the Apple and Google app stores because of a business dispute. But this past summer, Fortnite owner Epic Games made its games available from an app that you can download from the Epic Games website to Android phones globally and to iPhones in the European Union.
About six weeks later, Epic Games said there were more than 10 million downloads of the app outside the Apple and Google app stores.
Epic Games declined to give an updated figure for its app downloads.
• Use TikTok’s website instead of its app: TikTok was designed to be used as an app, but you can still watch videos from TikTok.com on your mobile browser or from a computer.
Assuming internet providers and mobile carriers don’t block TikTok’s website in the United States, TikTok could make its website more of a full-featured alternative to its app.

and even then, i once used free British phone from the internet, and Bilibili asked me to take photo of myself next to the document for me to be able to continue to use it. And even then my account was hacked 2 times because this British phone is free access for everyone, so people would log in into it, change avatars, troll others and log out.

americans have this "Main hero syndrome" and they think that if they banned tiktok, then its dead, when its just going to redirect to other world markets, like it may invest into South East Asia, Africa, South Americas or Europe. So everyone but stupid north Americans can still use tiktok. even Canadians and Mexicans can still use tiktok, lol.
Just make more stupid regulations and more people will want to leave your country. Its similar to Russia - here we have a lot of internet restrictions, and increasing, so a lot of young people cross the border and when asked why they did that, they say the reason is "excessive regulation and restrictions on the internet". Americans can soon start migrating. And if you think that "Oh, its just going to be Tiktok!" then you are wrong. Once the banhammer is used once, its becomes tempting to use banhammer again and again.
Look at the picture. Its PAFACA, the act that they have used to ban tiktok. If the congress decides they want to ban something else, they can use PAFACA to ban something else. PAFACA is like a tool, its literally a banhammer that they can indiscriminatelly swing at foreign sites.
