I want to get back into reading. Pls recommend a book/book series that I can read before going to sleep. No nonfiction books and no philosophy pls. I want something that takes my thoughts somewhere else and helps me to wind down.
Is kindle still the ebook reader to go? I remember it being a pain in the ass that you had to convert everything you downloaded from somewhere to their shitty format.
Doesn't anybody has anything more recent? The youngest book recommended so far is 76 years old. I doubt modern age attention spans that were ruined by the internet work well with old books.
i know dystopian books but i doubt they're fun to read, like Zamyatin's "We" or "A Clockwork Orange", also not-so fun is "Billy Bat" by Naoki Urasawa, "Birds in Thrones", "Flowers for Algernon"...
maybe "Miraizer Ban" by Leiji Matsumoto, bit it's from 1976
I had already ordered a kindle yesterday but your post made me remember how annoying it was to use the kindle outside of its amazon ecosystem so I cancelled the order and ordered a pocketbook instead. thx
I made the resolution that once it arrives I will spend half an hour reading in bed everyday before going to sleep instead of mindlessly lurking on reddit on my smartphone which I'm currently doing.
