One of these MRE taste test videos on youtube, dude bought Hungarian military 24h MRE in the US, was $300 (I looked it up online, that is the correct amount). The pack consisted various foodstuff one can buy here in basically any supermarket for about $30.

I seriously started to think to make "demilitarized" version of it. Just buying the ingredients, put them in ziplock bags and sell it for $200. The only difference would be the bag. And maybe leave out the salt packets. It's just NaCl one can get it anywhere. From his own sweat even.

However the shipping cost is prohibitive. Perhaps if I could fill a container with them, but I doubt the demand is that high.
