Where the fuck do you make so much money? Is it even worth it with all that stress?

I am codegarch and project leader of a very small team.

Tbh it is not super stressful but I spend most of those 40h working and at the end of the week I'm always exhausted. We only have crunch once a year for a couple of weeks.

 

It would make more sense for me reduce hours because I don't use my money at all but then I would probably go back to being a normal developer. Since I currently still feel like I learn a lot as a project lead I will continue doing that. Maybe in 5 years or so.

I'm a codemonkey too.

I make 520 tax free a month as a web dev.

It is super chill and as of now I don't need more money so I use time for myself instead.

Tbh it doesn't sound too bad, you probably should buy your own place if you haven't one so already. Meanwhile I'm doing nothing and also moving nowhere, because I pay 840€ Warmmiete in Berlin kek.

I don't want to buy a flat because when you happen to get shitty neighbors you are stuck there and you also have to deal with all the shitty boomer flatowners at the Eigentümerversammlung.

Small house does not really make sense for a single guy because it is unreasonably more expensive than a flat and I don't have anybody to inherit it to. Stocks/ETFs are just a better investment. Also I like the idea that I can leave germany if it ever goes down the drain.

 

Either I will reduce hours to a 4 day week in my 40s or I will keep going like this and maybe early retire with the money I saved in a cheap cunt when I get 50.
