Just had my fourth manual driving lesson (I'm doing B197, basically automatic but with some manual lessons, so I can still drive manual afterwards) and I'm fucking sick of it. Can't wait to drive automatic again. What about you Bernds? Do you prefer to drive stick or automatic?
GermanyBernd2024-09-28 16:18:07 · 2yNo. 321262reply
I drive stick. I recently rode with a colleague in his automatic car and was impressed how smooth it felt. Currently I don't really care. I think when you drove an automatic car for a couple of months you don't want to go back against especially with a new car and all its assistant systems where you don't have to do much on your own on the autobahn at least. But I will drive mine until it falls apart.

Currently it is good to be able to drive both because then you have way more choices on the used car market but in 5-10 years everything will be electric anyway.

Driving stick is retarded as fuck. Why do more work for the machine then necessary?

But then again I prefer going by train or bike to the car. It makes me feel like I'm a slave to the machine.

I am too dumb to drive automatic even. Had 20 double-lessons and all the special lessons and still making too many mistakes because my brain is all fucked.
Had 6 manual lessons in spring, forgot all of it lol.

So what’s your plan going forward? Already did theory?
RussiaBernd2024-09-30 09:38:46 · 2yNo. 321474reply
my car is 1.2, it would be painful to drive it on auto

What does it mean
FinlandBernd2024-09-30 12:28:22 · 2yNo. 321481reply
Matic of course, anyone who says otherwise is lying
And I don't think they even sell stick rides anymore except in the used market

I've passed theory back in May. My plan is to get through with it somehow. I was driving fine, then we've done a simulated exam with my instructor's boss on the back seat and I've got all distracted and shit, we took a hard route though, a bunch of tricky streets I wasn't driving on before.

Just had another manual lesson, only two to go. I hate it so fucking much.

Isn't it super boring to have driving lessons with an automatic car?
My nemesis when I had driving lessons was the clutch. Just having to press gas or brake is baby tier compared to that.

>Isn't it super boring to have driving lessons with an automatic car?
In the beginning driving was fun and exciting, now I just want to get it over with. I prefer automatic because I can actually focus on driving and my surroundings, because I don't have to think about the clutch and the car turning off.

can you do a manual on a mountain bike though?

How was your training yesterday? Did you learn to bunny hop?
GermanyBernd2024-10-01 17:51:27 · 2yNo. 321599reply
no i failed miserably, i am pathetic
however i only practiced for one hour and i was already tired from going uphill before, i get the pump and i can lift the front wheel but i'm not really hopping, i think i'm still too autistic to move my hips and get the timing down smoothly, also it's very exhausting so i'm obviously doing something wrong, like using my arms and upper body too much and trying to force it
i will try again, any advice until then?

practice makes perfect, even if it means falling and suffering. failure doesn't make you pathetic for sure, im proud of you, bernd
