GuatemalaVacation ThreadBernd2024-06-04 03:04:55 · 2yNo. 311944reply
Thread to post on your vacations, hotels, food and activities you did this summer. Here I start:
>be me
>end of semester at meme university
>be afraid to lose a course
>pass that course
>enjoy more my vacations
Here I visited the IRTRA Hostales. This one is located in the south of Guatemala and has three amusement parks (one is an aquatic park). IRTRA (Workers Recreation Institute in Spanish) is an organization funded to give private workers and their relatives places where they can enjoy their vacations. Although it accepts all people, private workers get discounts and benefits in these facilities.

Very cool, Bernd. If can't go to the water, then wait until the water comes to you. Enjoy all the aquatic activities!

Here is Takalik Abaj, which is one of Guatemala's four World Heritage Sites since 2023. It is one of the earliest mayan cities in Mesoamerica, therefore it does not have any glamorous temples or palaces. It is one of the few mayan cities that remains in good condition in southern Guatemala, since most mayan cities were rebuilt with European buildings by the Conquistadores or sugarcane barons destroyed the sites during the XIX century to have more land to cultivate sugarcane. The entrance ticket costs USD$6.50.
