You need to try the local cuisine, whatever it is.
I suppose it's a lot of fish? Try finding places where the locals dine.

Today I ate horse meat, because my Ethiopian taxi driver said it’s an Icelandic specialty. I have never eaten horse before, so I was pleasantly surprised. Very delicious, was as good as the lamb yesterday (and sadly as expensive as well lmao).
I have to say you can eat very well in Reykjavik. All the Icelandic restaurants I see and have been to here are very fancy and expensive. In Germany I never go to fancy restaurants, so it’s interesting to see here.
Now only shark is left on the list of Icelandic food I have to try. Or is there more that is worthy to try?

I went on a tour today and the guide said Iceland supposedly had forests at 75% of its land. But the Vikings cut down so many trees that the trees nearly got extinct and nowadays they have less than 5% forested area. But they’re trying to replant all those trees.

And to the Bernd who wondered who would settle in Iceland. The first Icelander didn’t come voluntarily. My guide said Ingolfur was accused of killing two people in Norway, so he was exiled. He took two pillars of his home with him and threw them in the water. Then he said wherever those two pillars would get ashore, he would settle. And as it turned out, that was how he got to Iceland.
