I don't play video games to get an exact picture of reality. I don't want to look male characters to look like me either. I want my escapism. This is the same old retarded argument as saying ego shooters turn kids into terrorists.

I usually don't jerk off to video games but I think that having characters that please the eye do make the experience more enjoyable than if everybody is intentionally made ugly.

Tho I'm more worried that not the "curves" but the superhuman strength, intelligence and/or capabilities cause anxiety in women. Many women has a nice rack, but none can have such powers. Men neither, they just don't think this is the expectation from them.

So you're able to relate to a character who can cast fireballs, jump 3 meters high, fence with double blades or lay headshots from the hip at a distance while dodging enemy attacks from all sides fueled by rage of their tragic backstory which has nothing in common with your life, but not to a character with tits?

Those are all physical feats. It is like saying how can a man with one leg identify with a man with two legs.

A woman however has totally different life experiences especially to me along with a different hormonal cocktail in her blood.

 

I remember that I played minecraft maybe half a year ago for some time and the preset for the protagonist was a black man. I spent quite a long time to figure out how to change it to a light skinned person. It was not trivial and I had to google it because the menus were not intuitive for me.

But in morrowind I typically play dunmers sometimes even orcs.

Yes, if a man is one-legged his whole life it would be quite hard to relate to a man with two legs. Experiences of the male characters are also completely different than yours. And hormonal levels vary significantly even within one gender, especially if they have very different styles of life.

Why do you need to identify as the protagonist anyway? Can't you just act out their part and enjoy the game without this 'literally me' play?

What's your genre? Horizon games have a canonically female protagonist, for example. Sometimes she even acts and thinks like woman, which is rare in the industry.

Otherwise there's lot of RPGs where you can customize them to be female but the difference is usually cosmetic and the femaleness experience is up to your imagination.
