is 'our world' going to shit? yes, of course. simple fact is that things are more expensive, regimented, monitored, etc. than in the past and with less room for creative solutions. was it ever good? it was better than this and not long ago, but maybe not for bernd or perhaps only in hindsight, which we cannot verify.
