what's the point of this bike? it's not faster that a regular one and it's less maneuverable

Tandem bikes are fun to ride, other than this there's little purpose. Nobody uses them as a real transportation method.

Those things are dangerous. I remember biking on those with my dad as a kid on a gravel bike trail and then suddenly it just broke. My end of the bike fell and I got scraped pretty badly.
