I once did the same, turned it off asap, did drying, didn't use for a day but in a couple days it started doing same shit. When I opened the laptop, the contacts were oxidized in a couple places, not just on keyboard, I scrapped it off (btw - NEVER do this without taking out the battery and releasing the voltage first, you can destroy your motherboard or disk otherwise) but keyboard was beyond repair. Ordered a cheap replacement from chiner.

It is over, just copypaste words from other people until you get a new one or use the on-screen keyboard. I spilled beer and wine and other stuff over keyboards so many times in my life, probably once a year, and rarely any of them survived it and even if it somewhat started working days later again there were always several keys that didn't or random popups on my screen from some odd key shortcut that was activated by accident etc.

The only solution is prevention by teaching yourself to not place any drinks next to your keyboard, but that's something I never managed so I just don't spend more than 20 bucks on a keyboard

or use a mekanikal keyboard

I don't think that's how it works... The switches are mechanical, but if water gets to the circuit board below it's just as over as with every other keyboard. I guess there are keyboards that are built in a way where the circuit board has some extra protection from fluids entering

But the contacts on the circuit board of mechanical keyboards are farther apart and more durable since they are just solder joints for the switches and don't have to establish the contact themselves.

I ain't no fancy keyboards eggspert, but I surely trashed at least 2 or 3 (cheap Chinese) mechanical keyboards from spilling shit over them so I don't know, I guess they are more resilient maybe but I can neither confirm nor deny it
