Why is global warming bad, isn't more water a good thing?
United StatesBernd2023-08-28 17:10:37 · 3yNo. 285343reply

Water evaporates -> rains down as clean water not salt.

evaporation matters from surface area not total volume though
so it doesnt help
mainly the issue is beaches will change and i already have beach parking pass

It's not necessarily good or bad. It's just going to shake up a lot of ecosystems and that will result in chaos, because we have set up our way of life on ecosystems working in a different way. Millions will die, but at least some oil execs got rich.

This. Lots of land which is now used to grow food will become not suitable for crops so lots of hungry people will go looking (and fighting) for food.

Isn't more arable land for Canada and Russia something good?
RussiaBernd2023-08-28 18:55:55 · 3yNo. 285391reply
the ammount of land is not the limit of productivity,

the ammount of workers, machinery, investment and logistical bottlenecks are the limit.

And now even if Russia has a lot of grain - due to sanctions it is difficult to sell it, because international banks block transactions of money, so even if some African country wants Russian grain, they have to jump through 100 hoops to pay for it.

It's bad because the ocean level will rise, and some countries will get submerged. But I don't care.
