Some adventages of these "weapons" are that they can commit the crime from far away, leaving almost anything of evidenve but the relacion of the victim with every possible problem that caused someone to deseare his dead.

Is the first picture related? Eindhoven often has dense fogs or strong winds, both would render drone dropping improbable. Also it's a densely populated area, there would be a lot of street/car video recordings while almost no high rise buildings so a drone would be easy to trace by. Even in Rotterdam bombings usually occur from timed land based explosives, it's much easier to organise and much harder to investigate so the drone gotta be a cover up. I'd start with some actual investigation, such as digging up who the victim was and who would benefit from his death.

All you need to have is that is that the cell-phone towers log the signal strength of each cellphone that comes into their reach. When multiple do this you can triangulate the location of the cellphone.
